Protecting Our Loons
Working with the Loon Preservation Committee (LPC), CLAPA has positioned a floating loon nesting platform on Contoocook in recent summers. Our loons have chosen not to use the platform, but fortunately they have had success the natural way for 2 of the last 3 summers. We have placed signage on the lake warning boaters about the nesting site and the presence of a loon chick on the lake.
